As the "big sister" of the team, Michelle LI a women's single player to compete in all four matches and did well in every game she was fielded. In the first round Canada encounters with India, she met Saina NEHWAL, the first women's singles world champion and she won 2-1 that paved the way for the Canadian team to qualify into quarter final 15-21, 21-16, 21-16

The qualification as the last 8 teams standing writes a historical moment for badminton.

All this was attributed by Michelle Li as the founder of Canadian Badminton Foundation. After decided to move from Hong Kong to get a Canadian citizenship, she played many championships. She is one of the top badminton players in Pan American, where she won Pan American Games, Pan Am Championships and Pan Am Women's Team Championships. She won the 2014 Commonwealth Games Women's singles title by defeating PV Sindhu in the semi-finals and Kirsty Gilmour in the finals.

In the BWF Grand Prix, she won three Canadian Open championships in 2014-2016, resulting in a frenzy of badminton in Canada. And many young athletes have developed. Hence Canada became one of the best young badminton teams in North America.

In this Uber Cup, if anyone mention female Canadian player, it is not surprising that Michelle Li is the heroin of badminton.

Michelle Li's name should be inscribed in the journey of Uber Cup 2018 as a true badminton player.
